Kawasaki launches Updated 2025 Z900 In India; Rivals Ducati Monster
Kawasaki has rolled out the 2025 Z900 in India, pricing the updated middleweight motorcycle at Rs 9.52 lakh (ex-showroom). The latest version of the popular naked sportbike receives several mechanical and electronic upgrades, as well as a refreshed design that aligns with the brand's evolving Z-series lineup.
What's New On The Z900 For 2025?
The most significant changes come in the form of rider-focused technology and styling enhancements. The 2025 Z900 features a new 5-inch TFT display with Bluetooth connectivity, along with revised switchgear borrowed from the Ninja 1000SX. Electronic upgrades include a ride-by-wire throttle system, cruise control, a bidirectional quickshifter, and a 5-axis Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) that supports multiple rider aids such as traction control and power modes.Visually, the bike now bears a stronger resemblance to the smaller Z500 model, thanks to a redesign that modernises its streetfighter appeal. The seat has also been re-engineered with improved cushioning, aiming to boost rider comfort without affecting accessibility.
What Powers The 2025 Kawasaki Z900?
Under the bodywork, the Z900 retains its 948cc, inline four-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine, delivering 125 hp and 98.6 Nm of torque through a 6-speed gearbox. While the powertrain remains unchanged, Kawasaki has upgraded the braking hardware with radially-mounted 4-piston Nissin callipers and dual 300mm discs up front, replacing the previous axial-mounted setup. The motorcycle also now comes shod with new Dunlop Sportmax Q5A tyres, which promise improved grip over the outgoing Roadsport 2s, though the tyre sizes themselves remain the same.Which Bikes Does The 2025 Kawasaki Z900 Compete With?
In India, the Z900 will compete in the premium middleweight naked segment, facing off against the Honda CB650R (Rs 9.60 lakh), Triumph Street Triple R (Rs 10.17 lakh), and the more premium Ducati Monster (Rs 12.95 lakh). Kawasaki is offering the Z900 in two new colour options: black with green accents and black with red highlights.Ayush Arya author
