Bengaluru: If you're travelling late at night this weekend, especially from the airport, here's a heads-up. The Hebbal Flyover will be closed for vehicular traffic on June 20 and June 21 between 11:30 pm and 5:00 am, as the BBMP undertakes urgent asphalting work on the stretch.
This temporary closure, announced by the Bengaluru Traffic Police, will affect all types of vehicles heading from Kempegowda International Airport towards Bengaluru city, as the work is being carried out on the city-bound lanes of the flyover.

Closure Timings

Dates: Thursday night (June 20) and Friday night (June 21)
  • Time: 11:30 pm to 5:00 am (next morning)
  • Affected Stretch: Hebbal Flyover (city-bound side)
  • Why the Closure?

The BBMP has taken up night-time asphalting work on the flyover to improve road quality and ensure better driving conditions. To avoid daytime traffic disruption, the work is scheduled during late-night hours when traffic is relatively low.

    Alternate Route for Commuters

To ease the inconvenience, the traffic police have advised the following detour for vehicles coming from the airport:
At Hebbal Circle, take a right turn towards Tumkur Road/Outer Ring Road.
  • Continue along the Outer Ring Road and take a left turn at Kuvempu Circle.
  • Proceed via New BEL Road.
  • Take a left at the Sadashivanagar Police Station Junction to reach Mekhri Circle, and then continue towards the city.
  • This route may take a little longer than usual, so passengers are urged to leave early to avoid delays, especially those heading to railway stations or catching early morning flights.
