Haryana Model Found Dead With Throat Slit In Sonipat Canal

A model associated with the Haryanvi music industry was found brutally murdered in Sonipat, with her throat slit and body dumped in a canal near Khanda village, officials said on Monday. The deceased, identified as Sheetal, was a resident of Panipat and had been missing since June 14, the day she left for a shoot in Ahar village. "When she did not return home, her sister Neha filed a missing persons complaint at the Old Industrial Police Station," police said.

Days later, her body was recovered from the Reliance canal near Kharkhoda. Police confirmed her throat had been slit. "The reason for the brutal murder is not yet known," an official said, adding that "the accused are currently on the run".

Sheetal had been living with her sister in Panipat. Her body has been sent for post-mortem as investigations continue.

This incident comes just a week after the body of social media influencer Kamal Kaur was found in a car parked at Punjab's Adesh Medical University on the Bathinda-Chandigarh highway.

The foul smell from the vehicle led to the discovery of her decomposed body in the back seat. CCTV footage reportedly showed a man driving the car. Kaur had gone missing on June 9 after telling her family she was heading to Bathinda for a promotional event.
