The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted that the temperature is expected to cross 44°C mark during this time. The week is expected to start with dust-laden winds sweeping across the capital on Monday.
On Sunday, the mercury touched 42.1°C on Sunday — 2.1 degrees above the seasonal average — while the minimum temperature was recorded at 27.7°C.
Strong surface winds are likely to persist through Monday, with daytime temperatures expected to hover around 43°C. The night-time low is likely to be around 28°C. Humidity levels stood at 31 per cent at 5:30 pm, while Delhi's air quality remained in the 'moderate' category with an AQI of 198 at 6 pm, as per the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB).
