The Delhi government will conduct the 11th Humanity Olympiad, along with the Spiritual Eloquence Oratory Contest and the Spiritual Echoes Poetry Recitation Contest, across all government schools in the national capital. These initiatives aim to foster human values and moral development among students from classes 5 to 12, said a statement.
It stated that it is organised by the NGO Dhyan-Kaksh under the Satyug Darshan Trust in Faridabad. The programme began in April and will conclude in September. It is designed to instil virtues such as contentment, endurance, truthfulness, righteousness and compassion in young minds through engaging educational activities, it stated.
The statement stated that the Spiritual Eloquence Oratory Contest will offer students a platform to express their thoughts on moral and spiritual themes, encouraging self-introspection and improving public speaking skills.
Similarly, the Spiritual Echoes Poetry Recitation Contest will invite students to reflect on topics such as unity, compassion, and cultural heritage through the original poetry, it read.
The Directorate of Education has instructed all Heads of Government Schools under the Department of Education to appoint a teacher-coordinator, preferably a Post Graduate Teacher (PGT), to facilitate student participation in the programme.
The final round and prize distribution will be held on September 7 on World Equanimity Day at Satyug Darshan Vasundhara in Faridabad. Last year, the programme recorded over 1.4 lakh student attempts from Delhi alone, with GBSSS SU Block Pitampura emerging as one of the top-performing schools, it added.
