Weekly Forecast for Pune
Pune is expected to experience generally cloudy skies with moderate to light rainfall over the coming week. Daytime temperatures will remain in the range of 32°C to 33°C, while night temperatures will hover between 22°C and 25°C. Over the first three days, moderate rainfall is likely, providing relief from the recent heat. The skies will remain overcast, but no weather warnings have been issued. Humidity levels are expected to stay between 70% and 89%, contributing to a muggy feel during the day.
In the following days, light rain is forecast, along with continued cloud cover. Rain intensity is expected to increase slightly again towards the end of the week. Maximum temperatures will drop slightly to 32°C, and humidity may rise to 58%, especially by the last two days.
Mumbai Weather
The city is currently under an orange alert due to heavy rain. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicts that Maharashtra's Mumbai is expected to witness more rain in the coming days. The weather change will occur due to the southwest monsoon, which is set to make a comeback after a short break. The primary rain-bearing system reached Kerala on May 24, marking its earliest onset over the Indian mainland since 2009, when it arrived on May 23.
Aided by strong low-pressure systems over the Arabian Sea and the Bay of Bengal, the monsoon advanced quickly over the next few days, covering parts up to central Maharashtra, including Mumbai, and the entire northeast by May 29, reported PTI.
However, it stalled from May 28-29 until June 10-11 before becoming active again. The lack of rainfall since early June led to a sharp rise in temperatures, triggering heatwave conditions across large parts of northwest and central India since June 8-9.
