Pune Rain: IMD Issues Rainfall Alert, Forecasts Wet Weekend – Here's What You Should Know

Pune: After heavy rainfall lashed Pune, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a rainfall alert for the city on Friday. The maximum temperature is likely to settle around 31 degrees Celsius, while the minimum is expected to hover around 23 degrees Celsius.

On Thursday, heavy rains brought normal life to a standstill in Pune. Waterlogged roads and massive traffic jams left commuters frustrated.

Weekly Forecast for PunePune is expected to experience light rainfall throughout the week. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), light showers are likely during the evenings, with cloudy skies prevailing during the day.

The maximum temperature is expected to stay around 30–32 degrees Celsius, while the minimum may hover near 22–24 degrees Celsius.

The rain, though not intense, may cause slight disruptions in traffic during peak hours. Residents are advised to carry umbrellas and plan travel accordingly.

The showers are also expected to improve air quality and support agricultural activities in the region.

With heavy rain predicted in several parts of the state until the weekend, residents are advised to stay alert, avoid travel during peak rainfall hours and take precautions against waterlogging and landslides in the ghats.

From Friday onwards, rainfall activity is expected to reduce slightly, though isolated heavy showers may continue in some areas.
