As the hall began to get filled with the beautiful singing of some rather talented students pouring their hearts out, President Droupadi Murmu was quick to get emotional over the wholesome tribute on her birthday in Uttarakhand’s Dehradun. President Murmu’s birthday this year ended up with a special moment, as many visually impaired students of the National Institute for the Empowerment of Persons with Visual Disabilities sang her the iconic birthday song ‘Baar baar din yeh aaye’ during her birthday celebration. A video of the President suddenly breaking in tears was shared online, which went viral and left many with melted hearts. President Murmu is currently on a 3-day visit to Uttarakhand- that began on June 19, Thursday- whereas her birthday was on June 20, Friday.
The President was reportedly welcomed by Governor Lt General Gurmit Singh (Retd.) and Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami at her arrival in Dehradun. During her visit, she will also reportedly lay the ‘foundation stone’ for a ‘state-of-the-art public park’ in the city.
Coming back to the birthday video, most netizens fell in love with the President’s heart-touching reaction, while some lauded the officers who were quick to react to the President getting emotional.
The video was shared on X (formerly Twitter), by the handle ‘theprayagtiwari’. The post was shared yesterday and pulled more than 58K views from people.

“She has a golden heart, respect you Mam President,” a user said. “She might have remembered her children. Her life is such a struggle,” commented a second person. “This is so wholesome,” added a third person.
“She has had a very difficult family. She has lost a lot of her family,” commented a fourth person. “What prompt action by the officers behind Our President. Happy birthday to the most powerful president of the world,” wrote the next.
“In that moment, perhaps memories of everything she has endured since 2009 came rushing back the unimaginable pain of losing both her sons, her husband, her parents, and even her brothers. And yet, there she stood, at the highest constitutional post in the country,” commented another.
