Amitabh Bachchan Mourns The Demise Of Close Friend’s Son; Netizens Think It’s Sunjay Kapur

Megastar Amitabh Bachchan has expressed sorrow over the recent Air India crash in Ahmedabad that claimed over hundred lives. In a series of emotional posts on his blog and social media, the veteran actor talked about the fragility of life and hinted at experiencing a personal loss as well.
On his X (formerly Twitter) account, Big B wrote: “घोर अंधेरा” (Deep darkness). On his blog, he elaborated further, writing, "जीवन में एक चीज़ निश्चित है, की जीवन अनिश्चित है” (One thing is certain in life, life is uncertain), underlining the sudden and tragic nature of the events.
The incident he referred to was the tragic crash of Air India Flight 171 on June 12, which was en route to London from Ahmedabad. The Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner, carrying 241 people including passengers and crew, crashed during take-off near a doctors’ hostel close to the Ahmedabad airport. Only one person reportedly survived the crash.
On his blog, Amitabh Bachchan called for a “transparent investigation,” urging that the memory of those lost lead to meaningful action, resilience, and healing.
He further added, "And the morning today has been filled with another grief for me and the family .. a most dear friend lost her Son .. young energetic .. and so sudden .. the pain and the grief for our friend and us is unimaginable .. and so difficult to have the belief that it has occurred .. All that one can do is PRAYER and to stand to give strength to the near and dear to bear the loss."
The internet quickly began speculating that he was referring to Sunjay Kapur, Karisma Kapoor’s ex-husband, who passed away recently in the UK after suffering a heart attack during a polo match.
Bachchan also shared an image of Lord Hanuman with the caption “Jai Shree Ram,” and earlier had written: “हे भगवान ! हे भगवान ! हे भगवान ! स्तब्ध ! सुन्न ! ईश्वर कृपा ! हृदय से प्रार्थनाएँ !” (Oh God! Oh God! Oh God! Stunned! Numb! God’s grace! Prayers from the heart!)
