Superman: James Gunn Teases Trailer With New Footage, Presents David Corenswet As DC Superhero In All His Towering Glory

James Gunn seems to have started the countdown for Superman reboot trailer scheduled to drop on May 14. As DC fans count hours, Gunn has released a new poster of his next directorial, which also happens to show Clark Kent's superhero Man of Steel in all his glory.

On May 13, Gunn took to his social media handles and shared the new poster featuring actor David Corenswet. His towering avatar in full costume and the signature aura of Superman is enough to leave fans excited.

He even shared a clip teasing the trailer launch for tomorrow, May 14. "Eyes up here. Trailer Tomorrow. #Lookup #Superman," he wrote along. Interestingly, despite the video being barely a few seconds long, has all new footage, enough to trigger the excitement.

Many fans reacted in the comments' section. One user wrote on X, "Can’t wait. Can’t wait to see Krypto." Another one said, "Looks super!!" For one fan the poster was "FIREEEE." For a second one, it was "Peak." Some were even "Stoked!"

As most netizens are waiting for the trailer with bated breath, one user wrote in a funny comment, "That is the most Superman a Superman has ever Supermaned."

A reboot of Superman: Legacy, the synopsis of the film states Superman "tells the story of Superman’s journey to reconcile his Kryptonian heritage with his human upbringing as Clark Kent of Smallville, Kansas. He is the embodiment of truth, justice and the American way, guided by human kindness in a world that sees kindness as old-fashioned."

While fans got to see several new elements in the upcoming movie, including Fortress of Solitude, which is Superman's famous lair of ice in the DC comics, and his dog Krypto.

Superman is slated to release on July 11, 2025.
