Who Is Kirara Asuka​? Japanese Pornstar Linked To The Boyz's Ju Haknyeon; Prostitution Scandal EXPLAINED

The Boyz member Ju Haknyeon exited the group after he got embroiled in a prostitution scandal. His photos allegedly with former Japanese AV actress Kirara Asuka at a bar in Tokyo surfaced online leaving Haknyeon at the receiving end. Even the group's agency One Hundred Label confirmed him leaving The Boyz.

Controversy sparked earlier this week when photos of Haknyeon allegedly with former Japanese AV actress Kirara Asuka surfaced online. It was reported that the two met at a bar in Tokyo with acquaintances on May 30. There were also reports that Haknyeon engaged in prostitution there.

Japanese outlet Shukan Bunshun released some photos that showed the two in close proximity. Reports alleged that they engaged in skinship, hugging and resting against each other. Though no romantic relationship has been confirmed as yet, the images spread online like wild fire.

Born in 1998, Kirara Asuka made her debut in the adult video industry in 2007. Two years later, she won the Actress and HD Award at the Sky PerfecTV! Adult Broadcasting Awards. In the following years, she established herself as a leading pornstar and even even held fan meetings in Korea in October 2017 and November 2018. She received a special award in the Overseas Model category at the 11th Korea Arts and Culture Awards in July 2023.

In 2024, she was in a public relationship with Youtuber Hilock, who was 12 years younger. As of today, she has 2.8 million followers on Instagram and her handle is @asukakiraran.

Haknyeon announced a hiatus from group activities citing personal reasons. The singer's decision to step away was also confirmed by the group's agency One Hundred Label, which was later connected with his meeting up with the former pornstar.

Haknyeon posted a handwritten apology letter online. He agreed that he was at the location, but denied prostitution or illegal act. Haknyeon wrote, "It is true I was at the gathering, but I did not engage in prostitution or any illegal activity as reported in the media or online rumors."

On June 19, Haknyeon was charged of prostitution after a netizen filed a complaint with the Gangnam Police Station in Seoul. The accuser requested for an investigation with regard to Haknyeon allegedly violating Punishment of Arranging Sexual Traffic pertaining to prohibited acts such as engaging or facilitating prostitution.
