Thug Life on OTT: Know About The Release Date, Censor Certificate, Run Time And OTT Streaming Details

Indian film icons Kamal Haasan and Mani Ratnam have teamed up nearly 38 years after they first worked together, for Thug Life, a film that’s creating buzz right from its commencement.

Their previous work, Nayakan (1987), continues to be hailed as one of Indian inema’s best. So the stakes are high for their reunion in Thug Life.

Thug Life will release in theatres on Thursday June 5. It is set to hit cinemas in multiple languages, including Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Hindi.

It’s also worth pointing that the film’s OTT release has already been announced. The film will stream on Netflix after its theatrical run. This will be after a period of 56 days (the norm is 28 days).

The streaming giant shared the update on X (formerly Twitter) and posted, “The Vinveli Naayagan returns—with a bang! Thug Life will arrive on Netflix in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi after its theatrical release!”

As per reports Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) site, the film cleared with a UA 16+ rating, indicating an intense content suited for adults and older teens. With a runtime of 165.42 minutes, that is two hours and 46 minutes, the film is said to be a gripping narrative with no major cuts, except for the muting of two abuse words.

According to Sacnilk, the film has sold 7,74,53 tickets domestically, with 5,143 shows set to run nationwide. It has minted Rs 1.32 crore in advance bookings (excluding blocked seats). With blocked seats included, the film has minted Rs 3.55 crore in advance ticket sales.

The film boasts a star studded cast including Trisha Krishnan, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Ashok Selvan, Sanya Malhotra, Joju George, Nassar, Ali Fazal, Pankaj Tripathi, Rohit Saraf, Baburaj, and several more.
